Vanessa Hudgens’ sunny yellow dress will make you and Tulisa smile

Posted in : Gossips

Vanessa Hudgens stole the show at last night’s Journey 2: The Mysterious Island premiere in Los Angeles wearing a sunny yellow dress so bright it should come with free sunglasses. Vanessa proved she’s more than got her fashion mojo back with the canary yellow dress – a colour that’s proved pretty popular with the style elite of late and may have something to do with the fact it makes people feel HAPPY!

Vanessa Hudgens’ sunny yellow dress will make you and Tulisa smile

Think of it as colour therapy if you will - then beat the January blues with a boost of February yellow on the high street. V-Hudge’s backless yellow gown features a pleated maxi skirt (also a big trend) while she wore her jet black hair in loose curls and completed the look with her signature Grecian-inspired armlet, gold hoop earrings and a smattering of boho’ jewels.

Vanessa’s dressed down wardrobe has received mixed reactions in recent weeks from her lace brown flared trousers to those (dangerously) distressed denim jeans.

Even though Vanessa Hudgens had her Journey 2: The Center of The Earth premiere in Los Angeles tonight, she managed to squeeze in a work out sesh first with her BFF Ashley Tisdale at Millenium Dance Studio. In this video, which Ashley posted on her YouTube, the two actresses break it down with a choreographed routine to Beyonce‘s hit “Run the World (Girls)” and top it off with some very sexy moves at the end. We love seeing these two girls have fun with each other (and totally wish we could dance like that)!

Vanessa Hudgens' island adventure

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added 4 days ago)

The tropical Hawaiian setting of the Kahala Hotel and Resort seems to suit dark-haired beauty Vanessa Hudgens. The former High School Musical star looks right at home in a suite at the secluded vacation spot, which is surrounded by palm trees, sandy beaches and a deep-blue ocean. She's made herself available to discuss the 3-D fantasy adventure, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, which opens Feb. 10.

Vanessa Hudgens' island adventure

In the Brad Peyton-directed Journey 2, (a sort-of sequel to 2008's Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D), Hudgens plays Kailani, the strong-willed daughter of Gabato (Luis Guzman), a helicopter pilot on a South Seas island.

After some haggling, they both agree to transport 17-year-old Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) and his new stepfather, Hank Parsons (Dwayne Johnson) in a search to find Sean's missing adventurer grandfather (Michael Caine).

Along the way, the helicopter runs into a massive storm and crash-lands on a peculiar island, stranding all four of them. They soon locate the grandpa there, only to discover they have just days to escape the island before it sinks into the sea.

Loosely based on Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, the movie was filmed on location in and around the jungles of Oahu in Hawaii. Hudgens said she enjoyed playing a no-nonsense female surrounded by males in the wilderness.

"She definitely stands up for herself," said the 23-year-old of Kailani, "just (as) I think that all women should stand up for themselves, because we're powerful, and Kailani definitely sticks with that."Other motivations for her character were inspired by the exotic settings at Oahu's Waimea Valley, China Walls and the Kualoa Ranch, where Jurassic Park was filmed.

"Hawaii was definitely a large part of making everything real, because there are so many magical places," says Hudgens. "I would show up for work, and almost be in tears at how moving and how stunning these places are."

A bonus was the friendly cast of Johnson, Guzman and Hutcherson, who briefly dated Hudgens while filming Journey 2. "It's refreshing when you meet people who are very true to themselves," said Hudgens. "A lot of people can care about what other people think, and try to morph themselves into something that they're not."

Despite the amiable cast, glorious vistas, and tropical Hawaiian climate, she did have to suffer a little bit during the jungle shoot. "The centipedes that were crawling around were just so disgusting, and they were massive, with all their little legs crawling," she recalls. "That freaked me out."

Even worse, there's a sequence in Journey 2 that called for Hudgens' character to be submerged in water. "I have a pet peeve that's so ridiculous, but I hate getting my face wet, or fully submerging myself under the water, or even opening my eyes underwater."

She did what was required just the same. If nothing else, Hudgens is a trouper, who committed to an acting career at an early age. Before doing the High School Musical TV shows and movie alongside former boyfriend Zac Efron, Hudgens was an ambitious child performer who worked in and around Los Angeles in theatre productions.

"I did a lot of theatre growing up," she recalls. "It started with theatre that I had to pay to be in, and then it started becoming theatre that I was paid to be in."In 2003, she won a co-starring part in Thirteen, followed by a series of guest appearances on kids' shows, including The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, The Brothers Garcia and Drake & Josh.

Then there was High School Musical, and the teen frenzy that came with it. Over the last few years, Hudgens has been trying to break free from her teenybopper image. She did that most notably with her Blondie role in last year's R-rated fable, Sucker Punch.

Upcoming is the Scott Walker murder mystery, The Frozen Ground, set for release next December and starring Nicolas Cage and John Cusack. Hudgens plays a homeless girl on the run from a serial killer. To prepare for the part, she chopped off her hair and donned fake tattoos and piercings, "and I actually lived in a pregnant, homeless teen shelter for about two weeks before we started filming, just to become one of the girls, hanging out with them, hanging out with their children."

It's the kind of acting experience she hopes to repeat. "There are definitely projects that you truly invest yourself in, and can only hope for the best, but I do this because I'm so passionate about acting," Hudgens says. "I can't imagine myself doing anything else. I love it with all of my heart, and I will always fight for anything that I want. I was going to say to the death, but that's a bit intense."

She thinks about that, then adds, as an afterthought: "All the parts I play are definitely an extension of myself, so I have to pull from that, but at the end of the day, I go back to being the happy, bubbly, giggly Vanessa."

Vanessa Hudgens almost goes topless on the beach after suffering a bikini wardrobe malfunction

Posted in : Scandals

(added 9 days ago)

This picture can only mean two things – either Vanessa Hudgens has decided that wearing a bikini top is pointless because most people have already seen her breasts on the internet or she’s suffering some sort of wardrobe malfunction.

Vanessa Hudgens almost goes topless on the beach after suffering a bikini wardrobe malfunction

And although we love the idea of the High School Musical star strutting around in no clothes because everyone has seen her naked form, the movement in her hair indicates that this was a cheeky wardrobe malfunction.

While doing that long walk into the sea (you know, the one where it feels like everyone is staring at the cellulite on your thighs as you trot towards the ocean, breathing in with all your might), the clasp on Vanessa’s bikini decided it would be a good time to snap open, with her straps whipping around and exposing her boobs to the world.

Fortunately (for her, not so much for us), Vanessa felt the tribal-patterned bikini giving way and managed to cup her hands over her modesty before a single snapper got a picture. Nice work, Hudgens. The brunette actress has been ‘working’ in Hawaii with boyfriend Austin Butler for the last 10 days, promoting her new film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.

And given that we’ve never heard of that movie before, the promotion clearly isn’t working. However, we have an idea – why not just stamp the name and release date of the flick on Vanessa’s arse? Everyone will be watching the comedy/horror/adventure film before long. You’re welcome – that’ll be seven million pounds please Mr Director Man.

Hudgens, Hutcherson admit dating while filming 'Journey' sequel

Posted in : Movies

(added 12 days ago)

The lead actors of ”Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens were forced to admit their dating past during an interview with an Australian “Today” morning show, thehuffingtonpost.com reported Jan. 17.

Hudgens, Hutcherson admit dating while filming 'Journey' sequel

Hutcherson and Fil-Am Hudgens shot each other an awkward glance after they were asked about their romantic past. The interview felt off particularly because the former “High School Musical” star is now publicly dating actor Austin Butler. Online reports about the situation called the moment “cringe-worthy” for both actors who obviously searched each other for the right words to say.

After the brief uncomfortable silence, Hutcherson managed to answer: “We’re not [dating now]. We were at one point, but she broke my heart. No, I’m just kidding. That was a while ago. We’re really good friends now.”

From edgier film forays (“Bandslam,” “Sucker Punch”), Hudgens now returned to a more wholesome part via “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” the sequel to 2008’s blockbuster “Journey to the Center of the Earth.”

Hudgens plays island girl Kailani in the action-adventure. “[My character] kind of gets sucked into this adventure against her will, but through Sean (Hutcherson) she opens up her heart because she’s really ruled by her head,” she said in an e-mailed statement from the movie’s local distributor Warner Bros. Pictures.

While they were filming the New Line Cinema offering, Hutcherson said Hudgens kept singing and dancing off camera. He revealed, “She’s always dancing,” to which Hudgens supplied, “And singing.”

Being the only girl in the main cast that also includes Dwayne Johnson and Michael Caine, Hudgens took it upon herself to look after her co-stars. “So, it’s my job to look out for the boys. It’s awesome. I mean everybody’s so amazing. I really get along with the guys.”

Off-screen romance translated to on-screen rapport for the young actors despite the opposite characters they play. “Kailani is tough because she has to be. She looks after her father. She’s also very outspoken,” said Hudgens.

“Sean is a dreamer and Kailani is far more practical. He wants her to get into the spirit of this great quest but she’s just focused on the risks,” told Hutcherson. “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” opens across the Philippines on Thursday, Feb. 2 in IMAX 3D, Digital 3D and regular cinemas.
