Vanessa Hudgens shooting at beach: 'The Rock': Just when you think Dewayne “The Rock” Johnson is over doing stupid shit like Tooth Fairy he signs on to star in a 3D sequel to a relatively awful 3D movie that somehow defied the odds and made enough of a profit to warrant the return, at least in the eyes of Warner Bros. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is a sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth with Brendan Fraser, though Fraser is nowhere to be found this time around unless he pulls some kind of crappy cameo like he did in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Yeah, that paid off.

This time, The Rock joins Vanessa Hudgens, Josh Hutcherson, and Luis Guzman, to find a mysterious island that apparently exists where, geographically, nothing should be. When they arrive, they find “strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret,” according to ComingSoon.net. Gotta confess. Movies like this are making it harder and harder for me to like children.
