High School Musical actress Vanessa Hudgens has revealed how she got into the mind set of her character Apple for the movie Gimme Shelter, by putting herself down in her real life and making herself feel worthless. However, this clever idea to get fully into the character had a rather lasting effect on Vanessa and her confidence really took a knock, which she had to build back up.

Hudgens explained, "Apple is a really insecure character, so I was basically telling myself I was a piece of s**t for three months and it really affected me.” Vanessa then confessed that it actually took her quite some time to get herself out of that way of thinking and back to her normal self again.

 

She added, "After filming was finished, it took me a long time to get out of that way of thinking. I completely lost myself for a while." You can catch Vanessa Hudgens portraying her character Agnes ‘Apple’ Bailey, alongside Brendan Fraser, Rosario Dawson and James Earl Jones, when Gimme Shelter is released later this year. Vanessa Hudgens will begin filming her latest movie Spring Breakers later this month.
